Final evaluation
Final Deliverable Function Description:
An assortment of fiber-filled lantern light displays. Selected lights are able to change in color and pattern due to specific codes from using Arduinos. The Arduinos are attached to a portable power source and the other lights feature several different lighting fixtures to showcase the cloud figure. The deliverable is a lamp shaped in the form of a cloud that will light up. The size of the cloud lamp will be approximately the size of a large backpack. It will be made of cotton or similar material for the outside of the cloud, paper lantern that the cotton will stick on, lights for the internal part of the cloud, and string or dowel that the cloud will hang from. The cloud lamp will light up from the inside of the paper lantern where the Arduino and possible battery will be.
Deliverable Evaluation:
The Cloud Lamps has achieved the original objective as stated in the original Proposal. We have successfully replicated the $3000 cloud lamp at a cheaper price. The outcome was as expected and we are satisfied with this decorative lamp project that we are able to install at our homes. Some improvements may include implementing a better way to put the lights into the paper lamps because it was difficult to turn on and off. Another improvement that would improve the product would be finding an alternate way to glue the fiber fill on the paper lantern without using so much hot glue.
